We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. You're so silly, like a hermit crab.
basically, America was trying to invade and annex bits of Canada in the War of 1812. The retaliation was for Canadian troops (under British command, but the English really did not give a damn) to march into Washington and torch the place.
Dolley Madison saved the portrait of Washington because she is a bitchin' lady, rescuing things even as her husband ran off and leaving right before the British-Canadian troops got there. She also set the table for the British-Canadian troops to eat dinner (which they did before torching the Presidential Mansion). CLASSIEST FIRST LADY EVER.
